Batch Charging Equipment

Frazier-Simplex, Inc. is the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of batch charging equipment. Many of our batch chargers, originally installed in the 1960s, are still reliably performing one of the most critical functions in glass production today.

We pioneered the blanket batch charging concept in the 1940s and further advanced the field with the introduction of screw batch chargers shortly thereafter—an innovation that continues to shape the industry.

Today, screw batch chargers remain the preferred choice for Oxy-fuel fired furnaces worldwide, as well as in a variety of other applications. Our equipment is recognized for its exceptional durability and superior dust control.

Whether you require a conventional blanket batch charger, a screw batch charger, or a custom-engineered solution, Frazier-Simplex is ready to meet your needs with proven expertise and personal service.

ChargeR InspectionS

A charger inspection involves a thorough evaluation of the equipment during operation. This includes observing the charger across multiple feeding cycles—typically a minimum of five—to closely monitor the performance of each moving component. Key inspection tasks include documenting visible wear and tear, examining the condition of motors and gear reducers, and recording video footage from all accessible angles for further analysis.

Following the inspection, we provide a detailed assessment of the charger's condition along with a list of any recommended replacement parts to help ensure continued reliable operation.

Charger Refurbishment

Our charger refurbishment process begins with your unit’s arrival at our facility. We start by disassembling the charger and removing all moving components, including gearboxes, motors, bearings, and other mechanical parts. These are replaced with new, high-quality components to restore full operational integrity.

The frame is thoroughly cleaned, refurbished, and coated with a protective primer, followed by a fresh finish coat of paint. After reassembly, the charger undergoes a comprehensive inspection to ensure all components meet our performance standards. Finally, we run the charger for a minimum of 24 hours to verify consistent, reliable operation before returning it to service.
